Office closure update: We’re working remotely, but still open for business

Our management team has been closely monitoring the rapidly-evolving coronavirus situation and assessing our response on a daily basis.

As we noted previously, we took several steps this week to ensure the health and safety of our clients, employees and other partners—including pausing all in-person meetings and staff visits to client sites, and allowing staff to work remotely. Based on updated recommendations from local, provincial and federal health authorities, and out of an abundance of caution, we are closing our offices for two weeks until April 6th. At that point we will reassess the situation and decide whether to reopen based on all available information.

While our office may be closed, we are still very much open for business and ready to serve you and your team in these challenging times. Our business continuity plan is designed to ensure that service will continue without interruption. Our entire team is currently working from home and are readily available to service your accounting, tax and strategic consulting needs.

Our recent investments in secure file-sharing platforms and work-flow technology will ensure the organized, safe, secure and confidential handling of your personal and corporate financial information. We regularly test these systems to ensure their effectiveness and we are fully confident in their reliability and security.

We will be communicating with you and members of your team over the phone or through video conferencing using Zoom. It’s a reliable, user-friendly platform and a flexible alternative to in-person meetings.

Please note that due to our office closure, we will not be accepting deliveries for the time being. Documents can be shared in electronic format and addressed to one of our partners or staff. Alternatively, you can email Gaye Cash (gcash@krp.ca) and she will distribute your documents to the appropriate team member.

We are accepting all personal tax return information electronically. While the deadline for filing personal returns has been extended to June 1, 2020, we don’t know how long the current situation will persist. We encourage you to submit your paperwork to our team so it can be filed electronically as soon as possible. If you require a link to our client portal, please send us an email and we’ll pass that along.

We will be checking voicemail regularly and have provided our cellphone numbers in our personal voicemail greetings to ensure efficient communications. Our office phone number is 905-946-1300.

As we move forward, we’ll keep you updated on changes to KRP’s office policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of our staff, clients and other partners. This is likely an extraordinarily difficult time for your organization. We understand the challenges you’re facing and are with you every step of the way. If you have questions, please contact us at aiannuzzi@krp.ca or ggrignano@krp.ca, or feel free to reach out to any member of our partnership group.
